Total time:

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups real mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped and divided
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • 2 tsp sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1-2  tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp dried dill weed or 1/2 tsp fresh
  1. Whisk together the buttermilk and mayonnaise, then add the rest of the ingredients and seasonings.
  2. Whisk the mixture until the ingredients are fully incorporated and no lumps remain.
  3. When chopping the fresh chives and parsley, I recommend that you finely chop them so they’ll incorporate evenly and the flavors will be released into the dressing.
  4. Reserve 1 tsp of the chopped chives for garnishing the top.
  5. Chill well for at least 4 hours before serving.
